Article 9 Peace Walk Presentation at the Global Article 9 Conference

This photo was sent by Sachiko Masui, one of the administrators of the Article 9 Peace Walk that started in Hiroshima on February 24th and ended in Makuhari at the Global Article 9 Conference to Abolish War. This is the Article 9 Peace Walk presentation at the Global Conference on May 4th.

Sachiko Masui reported Kato Shonin, the Nihonzan Myohoji priest who led the 72-day long Peace Walk recited St. Francis Prayer for Peace:

" Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;

where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,

grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;

to be understood, as to understand;

to be loved, as to love;

for it is in giving that we receive,

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen. "

Kato Shonin also recited:

"Civilization has nothing to do with having electric lights, airplanes, or manufacturing atomic bombs. It has nothing to do with killing human beings,destroying things or waging war. Civilization is to hold one another in mutual affection and respect. " -- Nichidatsu Fujii.

Yashar Keramati, one of the VSA9's delegates told me he was in this photo. It is hard to recognize him, but I am glad that the Vancouver group was part of this amazing experience.

Love,

Satoko
